Alas we are a day late… in between moving (buying + selling real estate and packing to be out in a super short time), a baby shower for one of the Chicks and a full week of work, we definitely fell behind in our post this Friday. However, we did meet some fabulous fashionistas on the street and here they are:
KATIE - LAWYER, VANCOUVER: With a dress as chic as this, we'd definitely call Katie if we needed a lawyer - can't hurt to have a stylish team behind you! Looking polished with a daywear-appropriate hem length and cute peep-toe flats, Katie could also take this look to apres-work cocktails by adding a pair of heels and perhaps some chunky jewellery. While most sundresses are not office attire, this lightweight number was a definite thumbs up for Katie as she kept it all black (with accents of colour subtly splashing through) and opted for a reasonable sleeve coverage. Our verdict: Fabulous! Case closed.
Looking cool, casual and oh-so-stylish, this outfit hit the streets of Vancouver straight from Taiwan! We couldn't resist stopping her - we've been on the hunt for a "just-right" pair of harem pants and these ones totally caught our eye. Paired with comfy-meets-chic sneakers and a classic polo, this was an ensemble that made us wish it were ours for those long work days or weekend brunch.
Straight to the point: we love this sweater. Cute as it is, paired with ankle-cute khakis, our fave option for it would be slipped over a caramel coloured tank with dark slim cut denim and cork-wedge heels. It's ladylike with a playful yet classic silhouette and can easily be dressed up or down; a garment like this can carry you through all seasons (from winter days to summer nights) for years to come. This type of piece is a wardrobe must-have!
LAURENCE - DOWNTOWN ENGINEERING FIRM, VANCOUVER: We couldn't believe it when this fashionista told us she is a grandmother! Certainly this contradicts the term "age appropriate" - we could have styled a girl in her twenties in this exact outfit and yet Laurence looks super on-trend and we wouldn't change a thing for her... it proves how a well-done, chic look can defy the barriers of age that traditional fashion often presents. We love the colour combos of grey cropped skinnies, black blazer and the teal ruffled tank - topped off with beige bootie sandals. Really lovely. We can only say this: we only hope to look this stylish when we are grandmothers, too!
The emerald green printed skirt is what first provoked our request for a photo op, but upon further inspection we were delighted to see that the rest of the outfit was just as lovely! A tone-on-tone tee and cardigan combo are always a feminine way to layer, and Chanel inspired ballet flats really do add a touch of upscale to any outfit. However, our favourite part still lies with the skirt: the print is bold but not obnoxious, is a fresh and rich colour for the season, fits the waist at that "just-so" spot to best flatter any figure and the hem hits the leg at the perfect spot above the knee but not quite mid-thigh. Overall a fabulous look for many occasions.
